NEW MILLS JUNIORS FC

This week, the Vipers faced more familiar opponents Hazel Grove Jets Utd, who we have played the last two seasons so knew we were up against a tough, well drilled footballing side. We nearly had a full squad but unfortunately Alistair was unavailable but JJ would play his first minutes this season after his injury. We are working hard each week on passing and moving, making sure we don’t hide behind players and don’t stop working & moving. We want to help each other forwards

Today brought a brand-new challenge for our girls, and one that tested not only their footballing ability, but their determination, resilience and teamwork. With Evie unable to play, we arrived at the pitch with just eight players available. That meant there would be no substitutions, no opportunity for a breather on the sidelines, and every single player would have to give everything for the full game. The U11s were back at Stockport Sports Village today, taking on UK Sports Greys. Some of the boys remembered UK Sports from when they first started out at U7, so we knew from the start that we’d have a game on our hands. The Millers started well. There were a few early nerves, but the boys quickly settled into their rhythm, passing the ball well and holding their own. It wasn’t long before we opened the scoring, and from there the confidence really started to grow. Pass after
