The Millers faced local title rivals Whaley Bridge in a Sunday afternoon, top-of-the-table clash. The Millers started the game brightly. Archie was distributing well; the back four of India, Cole, Alfie and Stan were dominant in the duels and fed the ball quickly to the midfield three of Jess, Fletcher and Bobby, who in turn started fast-paced counter-attacks, with some excellent chances created by the tireless work of Bertie, Darragh and Mayson up top. As we are in the 2nd half of our final non-competitive season, we decided to completely mix things up. Every player played in a position they were unfamiliar with. Now, it’s got the coaches questioning their whole set up. Fantastic game, every player played his part they were synchronised and it’s a special moment when they do what they are told and the result you expect happens (5 times). Lillis joined today and showed New Mills he’s still got the skills outfield. Well done
