Match Report NMJFC NMJFC U7's V Chapel Town Blues - 10/12/23

Last Sunday, The High Peak League welcomed back The Mini-Millers youngest team after missing a couple of matchdays. Although we had squeezed in a few training sessions during that time, the lads looked a little rusty to begin with and took a while to get going. It didn’t help that talisman wasn’t feeling quite right and we started with Finn on the bench.

Reuben took the gloves and as always, he gave 100% effort between the posts and his concentration was evident as he prepared himself for every shot that came his way. A great performance by our utility-man who is happy to play in any position.

Max was at the back keeping it tight and Teddy was just in front of him as we planned to keep things safe in the first-half and the plan was working. Ryan & Myles were working hard but we just didn’t seem to get the rub of the green and Chapel managed to get their noses in front.

Changes were made and Ned came on to sure things up. Ned is in great form right now and he showed how tough he is with a few fantastic tackles. Finley was also introduced at the end of the first-half and managed to impact the game with a majestic run that split the opposition in half before firing home 💥

Second-half the Aiden took his place back between the posts and our boys were under instructions to go & express themselves and not worry about the result. Max was setting up the play by passing the ball forward and Reuben was now out of goal and was trying his best get that ball and find some space.

Myles was working hard, Ryan chasing back & Teddy getting stuck in. Ned was taking no prisoners and making it difficult for Chapel to break down our defence. Finley came on and struck another beauty 💥 but just wasn’t well enough to compete so he came off again. This allowed the other members of the team to try and have a bigger impact on the game. They all gave 100% and the boys showed how much courage and determination they possess. Loads more games to come and you showed your coaches a different side of your character this weekend. We have a great team here and I can’t wait to get to training and channel all that passion.

Player of the Match went to Max 🏆  who epitomises everything I have mentioned above. Passion, determination, courage and always listening & learning! We go again next week Mini-Millers 💛🖤⚽️
