Match report NMJFC u10 Blacks v Chapel Yellows - 26/11/23

The Mini Millers were back in action today on a very cold Sunday afternoon and with the late withdrawal from harley, one of our top goal scorers we knew we had to be on it today.

The game was a very scrappy affair and the rhythm never seemed to get going.

Oliver, our captain of the day with Liam in defence formed a solid backline and are really becoming a great partnership. However against the run of play and a wonderful strike from Chapel giving James our keeper no chance in goal we found ourselves behind.

The goal didn't stop our game though and the work rate was superb Bobby, Shea and Joe worked tiredessly in midfield and kept going.

Oliver managed to find Archie, the main man up front for him to take a player on finish calmly to get the game all square.

Lots of changes were required today, Joe our rock was under the weather but soldiered  through, well done Joe.

Ella was miss reliable as always and put a great shift in today putting her body on line to prevent thunderous strikes from the opposition one to her head, she got up and shook it off well done Ella.

The 2nd half started and was very similar to the first with very little opportunities.

Kian was working hard on the right trying to feed Archie, who was outstanding again today with lots of solo dribbling. He hit a rocket from long range that hit the bar and went over, any other day this would of been a worldy.

Credit to Chapel they made it difficult for the Millers today and were quick to react when we switched off.

Overall the performance effect and determination was faultless and the main thing we focus on is enjoyment.

Our player of the match goes to Liam who was reliable as ever.
