Writer: R.OakesR.Oakes

On this beautiful spring day, the perfect setting for an exciting game of football, we started today’s tough fixture with Agnes in goal, stepping up despite it not being her preferred position. She gave her best effort against a tough opponent, distributing the ball well under pressure.

Emily and Ebony held the defensive line with determination. Emily not only defended but also made excellent dribbles, moving the ball into attack.

Ebony stood strong, making crucial tackles and pushing the ball up and down the wing, including a beautiful diagonal pass across the pitch.

Ava and Annabella took up positions on the wings, both showing incredible energy and commitment. They ran tirelessly, tackled well, and aimed for the goal. Annabella was particularly tenacious, breaking up the opposition’s play and pushing the ball forward. This allowed Millie, positioned in midfield, to collect possession and drive towards the byline, creating attacking opportunities.

Up front, Paige was a constant threat, launching an early rocket of a shot that rattled the crossbar. She displayed great passing, sharp runs with the ball, and several shots on target.

As the match progressed, Jessica replaced Annabella and started strongly, making key interceptions and creating a couple of chances on goal.

Next Poppy was introduced to play ahead of the defense. She proved to be a key player with good interceptions and a strong attacking presence.

In the second half, Ebony took on the role of goalkeeper and was fearless between the posts. Even after making a save that left her hurt, she got back up and carried on bravely.

Annabella and Ava moved to defense, where Ava delivered a lovely diagonal pass while Annabella mopped up the opposition’s advances.

Poppy shifted to the forward line and came close to scoring on multiple occasions.

Emily moved into the middle, showcasing excellent runs and attacking play. Agnes put in some strong tackles in midfield, adding to the team's solid performance.

Paige and Poppy led the attack in the latter stages, making numerous runs and taking shots on goal, only narrowly missing.

Millie continued to impress with sharp interceptions and quick breaks forward. The breakthrough came when Ava, for the second week in a row, scored a stunning goal, with the ball dropping neatly over the goalkeeper’s head, capping off a fantastic team performance.

Player of the week was awarded to Annabella for her strong tackles, intelligent play, and selfless teamwork. She consistently put her teammates in great positions rather than seeking personal glory. Happy to take on any position assigned to her, Annabella gave it her all, embodying the spirit and determination of the team. It was a performance to be proud of from every player. Well done girls!
