Match Report NMJFC U10s Hornets - 02/11/24

Ding Ding šŸ”” Round 3 šŸ„Š

Ā

The Hornets were up against very familiar opposition in Reddish North End Greens. It was the third weekend in a row that we were up against this very talented team and after a Cup Match & Cup Replay, it was now our first game in The Ā Stockport Metroā€™s Top-Flight, a reward the boys have earnt after an immaculate start to their first season in this league.

Ā

As a trilogies go šŸŽ¬ itā€™s very rare the final one is the best but our Mini-Millers were trying to buck-the-trend and were bang on it! By far the best performance against our familiar foes and Ollie M āš½ļø was doing what Ollie M seems to do an awful lot nowā€¦ā€¦ scoring important goals šŸ‘šŸ»Ā

Ā

At the back the boys are such a good unit. Fenn in goal was on top form as usual. Finley, Frankie, Ronan, Oliver L & Kai once again rotated positions throughout the game and these lads are becoming so solid. Rarely does anyone beat them and their have an understanding amongst themselves that is creating a defensive shield that we will need in the new, tougher division šŸ’Ŗ

Ā

In attack we were missing Oliver B who is our engine-room and we struggled a little without his energy. Luckily, Oliver L was up to the challenge and even stepped in to centre-midfield for a bit to do a shift for the team. Oliver L is possible the most mature young-man youā€™ll ever come across and when his coaches speak to him, he follows every instruction in fine detail. This week it involved a lot of tracking back and he simply refused to give up! At one point we had to check he was still breathing as he was busting-a-gut to protect his teamā€¦ā€¦.. Absolutely incredible Oliver L šŸ‘Œ

Ā

Upfront, the boys were trying to get a foot on the ball. The oppositions defence were strong too and our boys were given no time to work their magic. Corner after corner, we just couldnā€™t seem to grab another break.

Ā

Albie, Charlie & Ollie M were relentless and this standard of football will bring out the best in these lads over the coming weeks . . . . Just you wait & see.

Ā

Come the final whistle, our Mini-Millers had put in another incredible display of football to impress their parents. Courageous, dominant & exciting until the very end and they should all be very proud of themselves.

Ā

POTM went to Oliver L šŸ† who went above & beyond to ensure his team got over the line. What a warrior šŸ’›šŸ–¤
