Under 11 ‘brain mat’ Sponsored Boys Stockport Metro League v. Tytherington Juniors Rovers
What a difference a week makes….. After a poor preference last week, the boys were determined to show their passion, fight and excellent footballing skills from the kick off on another cold morning for the boys. Every member of the team gave 110% this week, and it was an amazing match to watch. Especially for the coaches as everything that was practiced on the training pitch was implemented into the match.
The Millers started strong, keeping possession with simple but very effective passing.
Midfielders Tyler, Leyton, Harry P.
Leighton and Bobby positioned themselves perfectly to help out in defense when needed along with creating great opportunities for wingers Sam, Jimmy and Remo to attack down the flanks, cut infield and have a shot or produce a perfect cross for Oli F to work the opposing goalkeeper.
Goalkeeper Oli C was in top form as ever, producing great saves, distributing the ball effectively to the defensive pairings of Eddie and Brodie who also was on top form today.
The second half was equally as good as the first half with both teams producing great attacking football and plenty of goals. New Mills goals scorers on the day was Remo (2); Oli F (2) and Jimmy (1). Although Jimmy's goal was questionably marked offside, it was a great first touch finish from an excellent pass.
I would also like to applaud Jimmy's and our supporters reaction when the goal was marked offside. No boo's, no negative comments to the referee just respected the decision and continued to enjoy a great game of grassroots football.
The ‘brain mat’ sponsored man of the match goes to Oli C in goals. Oli was amazing in goals again to producing same unbelievable brave saves. 👏🏻
