The boys started great this morning, attacking at pace with some great slick passing.
The defensive players Oli C, Bobby, Leighton, Brodie and Joseph never stopped battling hard all game, constantly breaking up the play and not letting their opponents have any clear chances on goal.
Harry P, Jimmy and Remo in centre and wingers Sam, Oli F and Tyler and forward Harry F all pushed forward at every chance creating some excellent shots on goal.
Harry F scored the first for the Millers with a first time strike from an excellent cross from Sam. New Mills' second came shortly after with Harry P finishing calmly from the penalty spot.
Richmond started the second half better putting pressure on our defence and midfield, not letting New Mills settle on the ball or spread the play at ease as they did in the first half.
Midway through the second half it turned into a game of great counter attacking football from both teams. All coaches agreed at the end of the game that this was an excellent exciting game of football highlighting what grassroots football is all about.

The ‘brainmat’ players of the match this week goes to Bobby and Oli C.
Oli C was back to his usual self in goals, producing some amazing saves and distributing the ball brilliantly.
Bobby bossed the defence today, making so many game changing challenges. I lost count of how many headed clearances Bobby made today. Well done boys.
