U12 Girls vs Haughton GreenFirst game of the season for the girls with plenty of changes from last year; new players, an increase to 9 a side and offsides. Even today’s opposition were new.
Despite all of this the girls started the season with a dominant win that included some great football and loads of goals. The starting line up today saw Millie in goal; a back three of Erin, Neve and Evie; centre midfield was Isla and Lily H; Brooke and Emily played out wide and Lily D was up front. The team started on the front foot and scored some early goals. As substitutes were introduced the team performance stayed strong; Ella coming on to play well in defence, Lucie playing in both midfield and defence, Penny battled hard in midfield and Florence did well in forward positions.

Of course the good performance wasn't just about the goals we scored. Millie made some cracking saves in the second half and the defence did well against the opposition forwards. In general it was great to see the whole team perform well.
Player of the Match was Lily H who was brilliant in midfield all game and unlucky not to score. Deserved shout outs also to all the girls who played their first league game for the team; Neve, Lily D, Penny, Lucie, Ella and Evie. All great additional to the squad
