Match Report NMJFC U12s - 02/11/24

Stockport Metro - Mainoo League

U12 Yellows Boys 4

Wythenshawe Town Roosters 6

Little did I know going to a U12 football game today it would have similarities to a game played in the newly named Allianz Stadium, Trickenham also today. It didn’t take long for the boys to realise they were in a physical battle today.

Nevertheless after the first 20 minutes losing by four goals and knowing they had extra challenges today they decided not to listen to some comments from the opposition and their supporters and concentrate on not been kicked and play their football.

This was rewarded with a great goal from Remo just before half time.

In the second half defenders Joseph, Bobby, Harry F and Leighton tightened closer and let the wingers Tyler and Remo sit back and play counter attacking football. This gave our boys a little more space to get the ball on the ground and play some stylish attacking football.

Oli C mixed up the kick outs and the goals started to flow for the Millers. Oli F added a second and Remo a third for the Millers.

The Millers were at full speed now and were attacking at pace. Jimmy and Harry P battled hard in the midfield and created some great opportunities.

New Mills could have levelled the game when Remo was upended in the penalty box but was not deemed a foul by some supporters and the referee, definitely one that VAR would be asking the referee to come to the sidelines to review his decision.

New Mills finished their scoring with a thunderbolt of a shot from Harry P to the top corner from outside the box.

Overall the coaches are very proud of every player on the team today for the way they conducted themselves on the pitch. Well done boys.

The ‘brainmat’ man of the match was Oli C, even with some physical challenges, he managed to compose himself to pull off some amazing saves. Well done Oli C.
