Match Report NMJFC U7's V Chapel Town Yellows - 1/10/23 Report NMJFC U7's V Chapel Town Yellows - 1/10/23
There was plenty of rain at Glossopdale for Match-Day #4 of our Mini-Millers first football season. Loads of new stuff to learn for the kids and they did brilliantly. It was the last game of our 'Trilogy' of matches against our good friends from Chapel Town JFC and this week we faced The Yellows and it was another cracker!
We welcomed Reuben back who had missed last week's game as had been unwell. Just to be cautious we started him on the side-line but once he got his opportunity he was brilliant.
This meant Aiden was starting and he was excited to play and showed everyone watching how much he is embracing 'Match-Day' and he is really enjoying himself.
Max was keeping things tight at the back but also playing some great passes forward and it wasn't long before The Mini-Millers had got the scoring underway courtersey of Finley! This lad can strike a ball ⚽️ 💥 and he's unstoppable at times!
Finn has also started dropping back into defence a bit more and when Ned joined him there, the New Mills defence was like a brick-wall and nothing was getting through.
Then we have Myles, Teddy & Ryan who once again worked their little socks off and when in attack, they are taking the ball past players and creating chances.
More impressively for us coaches, is the way they are working back and protecting their lead!
Finley hit a stunning free-kick to give our Mini-Millers more confidence and then it was Teddy's turn to score...... and the celebration sent our supporters into laughter as he did 'The Peter Crouch Robot'!!
Both Myles & Ryan were peppering the Chapel Goalie who had a great game. Shot after shot, but it just wouldn't go in. Ryan then offered to take the gloves for us and made sure we were safe.
Teddy won this weeks Player of the Match🏆 He had his best game so far and was also the captain this week.
Another step in the right direction and the best thing of all, we get to do it all again next Sunday. It's Glossop North End Reds and I can't wait!
