The completion of our first season playing proper football games against local teams in The High Peak Junior Football League.
It has been an absolute privilege to guide this team through a fantastic season! Both myself and Coach Rick would like to say a massive thank you to our U7’s Football-Family who never fail to turn up & support the team.
The Mini-Millers have been nothing short of outstanding and the progression each individual player has made is staggering. More impressively, is the way they have gelled as a team💛🖤
To the match – We were up against Glossop who have a massive squad of great talent.
We set-up with Reuben in goal. This lad has come on more than any other this season and his confidence is blooming. In net, he has become unbeatable!
Ned started this week in defence & got loads of game time. This boy is another that has flourished and this weekend he was on it! Nobody got past him, he won every tackle and was even setting up the attacks.
Once Max realised he was not the last-man, he decided to ‘go-to-town’! Max⚽️ has become the big-game player and was totally dominating the opposition team and he got his reward with a tremendous strike that left a very good Glossop GK with absolutely no chance!
Teddy also helped out at the back and was trying to turn defence into attack by playing some sublime passes into Ryan & Myles who were then through on goal. Both Myles & Ryan ran their socks-off upfront and the pair of them were putting in the hard yards.
Ryan was heard shouting for the pass from Myles. If you watch this team, you will understand the giant-leaps these boys are making. The way they both worked back aswell was the highlight of the game! Ryan was having his best game of the season.
The Mini-Millers have grown in confidence and all of them were giving 100%. Myles is becoming our attacking flair and was leading the front line. More impressively, he was running back and making sure we protected our Goal-Keepers.
Aiden got his chance in goal and first-half he was buzzing with the help of Coach Rick keeping him prepared. Second-half was more difficult but this boy loves being involved and even when the game had finished, Aiden was asking how we could improve.
POTM was Ryan🏆 This was his best performance of the season and he still has so much more in his locker. Our little pocket-rocket🚀
This fantastic team now have time to prepare for next season. We want to get as many kids onboard as possible so we are currently pushing our parents to get involved in coaching so the ‘Coach-to-Player’ ratio ticks all the boxes. If you have ever considered helping out, just let us know. It’s one of the best decisions I have ever made and these kids just never let you down⚽️💛🖤
We will squeeze in a Friendly before Finals-Day at Buxton FC in a few weeks. We also have some Summer Tournaments on the horizon too, including our own "NMJFC tournament" on Saturday 11th May.
⚽️🖤💛⚽️
