Match Report NMJFC U7s v Chinley - 08/10/23

It was an early start for the youngest group of mini-millers but the sun was out and conditions were perfect for this incredible group to continue entertaining their parents with yet another fantastic display of football.

In training and before the match we had a discussion with the boys about a few important tools they can add to their personal skill-set that will help them in the game but more importantly, in life! Myles was captain and nobody represents this more.

Patience, trust & belief were all mentioned and the team embraced these values and if we are honest, as coaches, we both agreed this was the best team performance of the season so far.

Finn is 'The Conductor' of this orchestra and when he gets it right, the whole team get involved. This proved to be the case and Finley hit a belter to get the scoring underway.

In goal Aiden was trying his best to keep focused and Reuben was also helping out whilst they rotated the goalie position. Both of them doing fantastic and preventing any goals going against us.

At the back was Max (Mr Reliable) who was protecting the goal and linking the attacks again. and it wasn't long before Teddy hit the back of the net and the boys were looking very confident.

Second half, Reuben swapped his goalie-top and was brilliant out on the pitch. Ryan was getting stuck in but most impressively, was setting up attacks and he is proving to be a real team player.

Finn volunteered to go in goal and this allowed the others to get further up the pitch and the goals came in abundance. Max got his first goal of the season with a cracking strike! Captain Myles also registered his first goal as he finished off a wonderful team move and the boys were having fun.

Then we were awarded a penalty! Teddy stepped-up and crashed it home to complete his Hat-Trick!

Fabulous performance Mini-Millers - Keep this going.
