đSt. Patrickâs Dayđ at Glossopdale and we have a strong âGaelicâ influence in the Hornets squad and this game was a perfect example of strength & persistence. Add to that, the belief within the ranks to stick with the plan and a total refusal to give up when it isnât going your way! Proper Celtic traits on display by đźđȘThe Hornets ClanđźđȘ
Â
Buxtonâs Young Bucks were in fine form and even though we had spoken about âphysicalityâ in our Pre-Match chat, our lads seemed surprised to be on the receiving end of some tough tackles from our opposition. Just as we managed to get a foot on the ball and begin to play, The Young Bucks struck and The Hornets were most definitely not having it their own way!
Â
The boys dug-deep and Fenn was making some great saves in goal.Â
The đShamRocketđ hit one of his trademark left-foot strikes and The Millers were off the mark. Ronan had started sub and had a point to prove to his coaches... he was class!
Duffy then added to the score and our Little Celts were back in familiar territory. Albie was playing out of his skin and never, ever stopped running.
Oliver B is another that gives nothing less than 100% and with Ollie M switching over to the right wing and chasing every ball, more attacks were imminent from the front 3.
Â
Second-half was by no means easy and the boys were working the ball now and showing us all how far they have come. The passing was on-point and the momentum was growing and Frankieâœïž finished off a great team move.
At the back Finley was taking no prisoners and cleared everything that came his way. Oliver L was carrying an earlier injury but was having none of it and was turning defence into attack by linking up the play. When you add âSham-Rocketâ to this defence, they are extremely solid but deadly on the counter-attack.
Â
This Buxton side are very good and although the game got scrappy at times, both sides were going for it and it was a great contest.
Buxton grabbed another goal but it was cancelled out by another Duffy wonder strikeđ„ Whilst being kicked left, right & centre, Albie managed to strike the ball into the top-of-the-net! Go Maestro â Even the ref stopped to acknowledge the desire & fight on display and Albie had one again hit another Hat-Trick âœïžâœïžâœïž
Â
Come the final whistle, all involved agreed this was a fantastic game of football and both teams had stepped up a level to ensure it was a competitive encounter.
Â
If there is one thing I have learnt about junior football, when the kids listen, they all give 100% and also back each other to the very end....
âœïžTHEN YOU NEVER LOSEâœïž
Irrelevant of the scoreline, they simply learn & progress. Itâs magic to watch and as coaches, we couldnât be prouder of every single one of you đđ€
POTM was Albieđ Absolutely top class in everything he did!

1 game to go đđ€âœïž
