Match Report New Mills U9 Wasps vs Chinley U9 Whites 10/09/23
A brand-new season for the U9 Wasps.
More players on the pitch, the pitch is longer in length and match times are longer.
With some new players and some new coaches, the first game of the season was very much a getting to know game.
The match started off slow with the team finding their feet & their positions. But the pace soon sped up and the quality improved.
Attacking we had Rocco ⚽️ with a sheer determination he was not letting the ball go. Always chasing it down and always looking for the back of the net.
We had Dylan ⚽️⚽️ on the left wing and he was running up and down that wing the whole game he also had a cheeky corner that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
Alfie & Kai⚽️ switching between the right wing and centre attacking mid pushing the ball forward at every possible opportunity. By the end of the game they had really given all they had.
Defensively we had Sam 🏃💨who must have stepped on every foot of the pitch today. He was tackling from every area and was taking ownership of the ball. Jacob🧱 stayed back and protected his line nothing was getting past him he was keeping his eye on anyone waiting to go for the shot.
Frankie 🥷 didn’t have too much work on his hands during the game. He held his line. Jumped on the ball when he needed and made a couple of ninja dives.
It wasn’t an easy decision but for his attitude during the game and the quality of his play Rocco received our player of the week. 🏆
A brilliant first game, a very happy team and very happy coaches.
