Match Report NMJFC U9s - 30/10/22
NMJFC U9 Hawks v Whaley Bridge
The Hawks faced another tough opponent at the weekend in the HPJFL against Whaley Bridge.
The Millers showed great organisation in the first half with some excellent passing across the pitch, with the whole team involved in driving forward and creating chances.
A change up in formation saw Liam and Ella working hard to keep Whaley away from our goal and hold a tight back line, whilst Kian, Shea and Bradley worked tirelessly in midfield to open up play and create chances for The Hawks.
Rey Rey made her first appearance in goal and made some spectacular saves - big well done to her 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The second half was tough and New Mills were feeling the pressure from Whaley.
Shea dropped back into defence alongside Liam and Joe came on to bolster the midfield with his impressive work rate as always. Harley bagged a goal for The Hawks with a sensational free kick, smashed in from the underside of the crossbar from the edge of the box ⚽️
James took the number 1 jersey for the second half and showed pure class with some more awesome goalkeeping. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Man of the Match: Bradley 🏆 for an excellent game from start to finish. Very organised, fantastic on the ball - created lots of chances with crosses into the box and a few efforts on goal himself. Liam as always was a close contender, our captain and leader from the back had a great game too.
An all round tough match, but an enjoyable one to watch nonetheless. Well done Hawks.
