and Teddy as super sub
Feeling a lot warmer this morning in Woodley as spring is on us and the boys in quandaries whether or not to wear base layers. The opposition was hot though so let’s get on with it!!
As we expected it was an even start with end to end action. Our boys stepped up the pressure and with some great passing moves from defence through midfield, Stanley finished with a first well hit left foot and then minutes later with a right footed volley from 20yards!!
On came Teddy into the action, with in moments he burst through on goal only to be stopped by a great save from the High Lane keeper.
High Lane started to put on more pressure, attacking our goal but James was having none of it, he pulled off 2 outstanding saves to add to High Lanes frustration.
Charlie J swapped his striking feet to his saving hands for the second half when he put on the goalie gloves.
High Lane came out with intention, immediately testing our 2nd half defenders James, Charlie T and Pavak who defended really well.
At this point Charlie J made sure nothing else was going passed him, pulling off some remarkable saves. This inspired our boys to fight hard and ‘Rested at the break Rhys ‘ hit a scorcher that rattled off the cross bar!
Charlie J continued to keep out High Lanes attempts on goal with a great save from a long distance strike. Stanley put in a late weaving solo run on goal but was denied by High Lane’s giant of a keeper.
PotM this week goes to Charlie J for volunteering to take the keepers gloves for the second half and doing a great job !
Well done boys you make us all proud.
