Match report NMJFC Under 13s - 12/03/23
New Mills u13s v Richmond Rovers u13s
The Millers were at home again this week against a team who we played a couple of weeks ago and we were on the end of a 9-2 defeat.
Since that game the boys have been excellent and we were keen to show Richmond that we are no pushovers.
The game kicked off and both teams seemed quick to settle in to the game. There were chances at either end in the first half.
The Millers were fighting for each other and were chasing every ball down and weren't giving Richmond time on the ball to play the football they wanted to.
The first half flew by and the whistle came to end the half with the teams level at 0-0.
2nd half started and the Millers again were working as a team with some good football being played from both teams again.
Richmond eventually broke the deadlock and then continued to press the Millers.
A couple of deflected own goals and 2 more for Richmond put the game to bed with the final score of 5-0.
Cannot fault the players for their efforts again this week and I don’t think the score really reflected the way the game was played.
After the game the opposition manager congratulated the Millers on their performance and the coaches for the Millers agreed.
We are definately moving forwards as a team together and everybody seems to be enjoying it at the minute.
It's good for everybody involved with this team.
MOTM jack for making some brilliant saves through the game.
Well done boys, we go again next week as no fixture this week.
