Match report NMJFC Under 7s Blacks - 13/02/22

Writer: R.OakesR.Oakes

The final game of New Mills Blacks magnificent performances at the highest level of football in the High Peak Junior Football League and our kids have done themselves proud. We were up against Chapel Town Yellows and our first-half performance was unbelievable! This team of ours has so much ability, energy & a will to win. But most of all, they all want to get out on that pitch & perform.

Jessica offered to go in goal first-half and she was fantastic. What I loved about this game is every one of them was on the top of their game and made sure they defended that goal, ensuring the goalkeeper was protected. Clean-Sheet Jess!🤲 Perfect. Add to that, Albie⚽️ went up the other end and got himself a goal – Great Strike.

Second-half –

Chapel came out of the blocks firing and NM Blacks found it tough going. We just couldn’t find that next-gear, the level that has seen us perform on so many occasions this season. This is football, sometimes you don’t get what you deserve but you learn more.

Everybody played loads of minutes and we are progressing in the right direction. A fantastic team who are improving every week.

Special mention to Jessica & Ollie M who both went in goal.

I’m giving an extra special mention to Finley this week. Absolutely incredible! This lad gets better every game. His ability to understand an instruction and then apply the courage & desire to perform it absolutely blows my mind. Keep it up Finners💥
