The Yellows were fired up for their game at Glossopdale this morning against Chapel Town U7 Colts.
With a couple of the squad unavailable it was an ideal opportunity to give some of the players the chance to play in different positions and give them new instructions to follow for the first time.
The first half started with great energy and the Yellows were quick to win the ball as much as they could. This led to a number of chances early on and the Yellows deservedly made the breakthrough with a great individual goal from Charlie ⚽️. Chapel then grew into the half, with Leo making some excellent blocks and tackles in defence and our goalkeeper Toby making some good stops. But the pressure told and Chapel got their goal just before half-time.
A reshuffle at the break saw Dylan make his debut in goal and Toby making his outfield debut in the defender role. Both were excellent in another open, end to end half of football.
The Yellows kept the pressure on their opponents and were more confident with their passing and movement, with Rocco being a great example of this. Their second half performance was rewarded with excellent goals from Joshua ⚽️ and Ronan ⚽️.
Special mention to todays captain Leo. He stepped into the defender role for the first half and was an absolute rock! Some great tackles and forward passing. Then in the second half his role in midfield was vital in breaking up the opposition’s play.
A great game of football to watch today and the Yellows showed again how much they are developing every week. Well done team!
