v Hayfield
A crisp, sunny Sunday morning at Glossopdale welcomed The Hawks this weekend, facing off against a very good Hayfield side.
End to end action right from the whistle, The Millers were playing with intent. Harley showing lots of pace down the left wing which caused a lot of threat at the Hayfield goal. Our opponents matched us with their level of intensity, some early strikes being kept out by James in goal for The Hawks.
Joe was bossing it from the back and linking up well with Bradley on the right hand side and playing balls through to Shea up front.
The Hayfield keeper had an awesome game and we couldn’t seem to find the net.
Shortly before half time a penalty was awarded in our favour for a handball in the box and smashed home by a thunderous strike from Bradley.
We started with a bang in the second half, Harley belting down the left wing through on goal and slotted home beautifully with a placed shot into the bottom corner. Very even for most of the second half with Liam and Kian working really hard to pick up loose balls and keep the pressure on. A late scramble in the box saw Hayfield bag another which was almost instantly followed by a rocket of a strike from way out - nothing and no one was stopping that.
A real solid display from The Millers today which is showing this team really start to gel well together and perform as a unit. Incredibly proud of our performance, well done Hawks 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Man of the match: James 🏆 for some superb saves throughout the game.
