It was a Buxton double for our Mini-Millers. Last weekend we faced a brand new Buxton Cobras team and after an incredible display the weekend before that too, the team were full of confidence. It was also Remembrance Day and this very young team paid their respects impeccably and showed what maturity they possess. I was very proud of everyone of them.
It was the return of Finley, who passed on some of his knowledge to the team in his pre-match team-talk. All guns loaded, we bombarded the Cobras goal and it was a very successful display. Reuben ‘Schmeichel’ was outstanding in goal. Yet again, it was our defence that set the tone for the others and Max & Teddy are creating a partnership that takes me back to Rio & Vidic! Max 🏆 took the POTM award for his incredible display of leadership.
Back to this weekend and the second chapter of our Buxton double. This weekend was Buxton Warriors who are very familiar opponents. As coaches, we simply love these games as the two teams are so evenly matched.
“6 v 6” was the request from The Warriors and that suited our Mini-Millers too. We started the game in the the same vein as where we left off last weekend. The football was simply sublime! Everything we have practiced in training was on show. Playing it out from the back, getting the ball wide and then squaring it….
Boom 💥 Boom 💥 - Myles was there twice to finish off both wonderful team moves!
The game went from end-to-end and our kids put on the most incredible display of football. It’s so impressive to see the training session coming to life on the match days.
Myles won the POTM 🏆 He scored two great team goals but more impressively was his desire to help out his team-mates. Myles was everywhere and never stopped working back. A fantastic performance from the entire team.
Special mention to Mia ⚽️ who scored again and also put in another gritty display.
