MATCH REPORT - NMJU7 - 25th February
Another 9am kick at Brinnington Leisure complex, against Inter Cheadle.
We last played Inter Cheadle before Christmas in what was a close game, so we were hoping for another strong performance against a well organised side.
We started off with James in goal, continuing his fine form, and making some excellent saves.
With Charlie in defence making sure Inters chances were limited.
Teddy and Stanley, Rhys taking turns in Midfield, and Jackson and Paige up front.
New Mills once again were fast from the off, and managed to go 2 goals up thanks to a couple of great finishes from Stanley.
However, It wasn’t her long before Inter had found their stride and was coming back hard putting us behind just before the break.
A reshuffle at half time brought James outfield, replaced by Jackson in goals.
A few more rotations had us find another gear after the break and it wasn’t long before James got on the scoresheet for the first time. Well done James !
This followed by another from James and another from Stanley too.
Inter came back again towards the end in what was a really competitive game, and managed to squeeze a few back just before time.
A great team effort today, against a very tough competitor. Many positives to take from the game including our positioning, passing and great team spirit.
Player of the match deservedly went to James. Some great saves as goalkeeper in the first half, with 2 goals and a few good chances in the 2nd half. Superb !
